Creator earnings and revenue share
How a sale on the TopArrow market is split, and when you can withdraw.
80%
Creators
20%
Platform
For every sale, the platform keeps 20% and creators get the remaining 80%. If the buyer picks an original app, the whole 80% goes to its author. If they pick a version someone modified, it is shared between that version and the versions it was built on.
How derived versions share a sale
An app can be modified again and again, forming a chain of versions. When one of them sells, the table shows the share of the price each party gets.
- Original app
- Versions in between
- Previous version
- Version bought
| Buyer picks | Its author | Original author | Previous version | Versions in between | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The original app | 80% | — | — | — | 20% |
| A version modified directly from the original | 56% | 24% | — | — | 20% |
| A version modified from someone else's version | 40% | 24% | 16% | — | 20% |
| Further down, with other versions in between | 40% | 16% | 16% | 8% | 20% |
- When the previous version is the original app, the previous-version share goes to the author of the version bought.
- When there is nothing between the original app and the previous version, the in-between share goes to the original author; otherwise those versions split it evenly.
Fine print
- If the same person appears more than once in a chain (for example, by modifying their own version), their shares are added together.
- Amounts are worked out to the cent; leftover fractions go to the platform.
- Once an account is closed, it no longer receives shares from later sales.
- If the rates change, only orders placed afterwards are affected. Earlier splits stay as they are.
Pricing
- Publish for free, or pick a price tier. Amounts cannot be typed in.
- When you first publish an app you set one app price. Each later version gets its own purchase price and upgrade price: anyone who owns any version of the app pays the upgrade price. The upgrade price cannot be higher than the purchase price.
- The author of an original app can set a minimum price for derived versions. Derived versions published afterwards cannot be priced below it; ones already published are not affected.
- Price changes take effect immediately and do not affect orders already paid.
- The Chinese interface shows the yuan price and the English interface shows the dollar price. Each tier pairs the two.
Earnings and payouts
- Earnings are booked in US dollars. A yuan payment is recorded as the dollar amount on the same price tier, not converted at the exchange rate. The rate is used only when paying out in yuan.
- Each earning is held for 7 days — the buyer's refund window. If the order is refunded during that time, the earning is reversed; afterwards it becomes available.
- You can be paid in yuan or US dollars. The minimum is ¥100 in yuan or $50 in dollars, and each request can be at most $20,000.
- There is no withdrawal fee for now.
- Request a withdrawal from My earnings in TopArrow. Payouts go to a bank card and are made by hand: we verify your payee details and transfer, usually within 1–3 business days, and email you the result. Only one withdrawal can be under review at a time.
